Frank Schonig originally built the chassis for Bill Evan\u2019s unique coupe<\/em>. The project also spent time with Alf Eiberhoff who, working on a concept design by Don Varner, heavily modified the \u2018glass Poliform body. The car went next to Ron Covell for hood sides, and eventually to Gary for detail work and a full aluminum interior\u2026<\/p>\n

Gary modified the hood sides to clear the suspension. He also added headlights, but more about that later. You can begin to see some of the fabrication work he\u2019s done inside the car.
\n\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

The chassis is completed, painted and detailed. Note how the exhaust was modified to clear the servo unit on the transmission for the coupe\u2019s electronic, push-button shifter.<\/p>\n

Chip Foose designed the interior. Working from Chip\u2019s sketch, Gary brought it to life.<\/p>\n

Here the interior has been mocked up with rough door, ceiling and rear trim panels in place. Sid Chavers will be doing the upholstery.
\n\"\"<\/a>\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

The center console flows into the dash, which in turn flows into the door tops and panels. The console houses the A\/C controls and vents, the electronic shifter, the parking brake, plus<\/em> ducting from the rear mounted A\/C unit. All the controls and gauges will get polished stainless trim.
\n\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

The overhead console houses a GPS unit, the electric window, door, and gas cap controls, plus the electronics for the car\u2019s back-up camera.
\n\"\"<\/a>\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

The Indy Car-style front suspension and 5-axis CNC\u2019d spindles. The coupe needed headlights, so a number of bolt-on solutions were tried. Not satisfied with any of them, Gary returned to the English wheel\u2026
\n\"\"<\/a>\"\"<\/a>\"\"<\/a>\"\"<\/a>\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

The hood lift mechanism was next. Using hardware from Tri-C Engineering<\/em>, Gary fabricated all new hinge arms.
